The End, The End, The End... For Now At Least

Well everyone, the first thing I want to say is a big thank you to everyone who has read, followed, commented and donated. I couldn't possibly have finished this thing without you. You've been the best audience a writer could wish for, and I just hope that you've enjoyed the story.

I'm going to be taking a little break from writing for a while, since the day job is currently eating up a lot of my attention. But I'll be back--I've got so many projects I want to work on, including a follow on to After that takes place a few years after the end of this tale.Watch this space.

In the meantime, I'd like to ask a favour. I put my work online for free, for everyone to enjoy because I want it to be read. But, like any writer, I do need to make a living. If you can afford to, and you have enjoyed reading After, please consider donating using the little button on the right. Every donation is appreciated, no matter how small. If you can't afford to donate, you can still help support After by telling your friends, or sharing a link to the site. Thanks once again.

Love you all. Until we meet again...

Kitt

The End! Well, this has been an awesome story. I only wish there had been one chapter more, in which David regaled their new friends with his alien destroying adventure, and received expressions of admiration that did wonders for his self esteem :-)
All the best,
Fiona

I'm sorry to see it end here - I thought the next phase could have been David going back out to the mainland to encourage others to come to Holme, much like Sven did for him and Lisa.

I found this story this morning and finished it in just two sittings. You are the only on-line, post apocalyptic writer who understands character development, plot line and setting. The pace was good. There was plenty of drama but moments of beauty to keep it from being too dark. Very well done.

I found this story yesterday and like Kathy, read it in two settings. I love apocalyptic fiction. This was awesome. Very well written, great cliffhanger installments.

Oh and sorry for the double post, but if you do get it edited and get it into a print version can you drop me a line? This feels like something I would love to have on my bookshelf.

I want more!

Great story, but it doesn't feel finished. What happens next? What is life like on the island? What happens with the creatures?
Perhaps that isn't the story you set out to tell, but inquiring minds want more :)

Like Joe said, great story but it doesn't feel finished. Overall though you did a great job Kitt.I know how hard it can be to write a story. Thanks for you hard work and great tale.

Incidentally, I just got caught up on another great Story that sort of starts where this one leaves off. It's a Zombie based apocalypse, but it's all about surviving and rebuilding after things go into the dumper.
I highly recommend Adrian's Undead Diary:

Wow this is so awsome, i had problems putting it down ever since i started reading. You should defently make more post-apocalyptic stories.
